Sunday 20th April: Join us at Glasgow BMX Centre.

On Sunday 20th April we are moving all our bike sessions to the Glasgow BMX Centre until the end of June at no extra cost to you.

Based in Knightswood, this track is normally only available to racing clubs and elite riders. This summer we’re bringing the track alive with all our usual lessons to give you a taste of BMX, skateboarding and roller skating at the track and on the public area around it!

Wheelie Tots, Biker club, BMX freestyle, Skateboarding and rollerskating are free for members and just £5 - £6.50 for non members on our launch day. You can book your session through our usual booking system.

Our first session is on Sunday 20th April. Following this date, our Sunday wheels sessions will ALL be based at the track until the end of June for the usual Movement Price cost.

So what do we have on offer?

Rock Up and Ride: We are recruiting young riders!!!

This is our FREE eight week programme that we run in partnership with Scottish Cycling.

Normally for P5+ only, we’re giving younger children a chance to learn the fundamentals of BMX freestyle, enhance their bike handling skills and an amazing introduction to this World Standard Track.

We’ll be running x3 groups from April to the end of June, with 24 spaces in each one. The P1-3 and P4+ group will start their programme on Sunday 20th April, with a further group of P4+ on Tuesday 22nd April. Most of the children that follow this programme stay with us and join our BMX Bandits crew and continue to learn at the track and take part in regional races.

What you'll learn

  • Bike handling skills: Steering, balancing, braking safely and navigating turns

  • Riding on ramps: How to safely go up and down ramps

  • Technique and positioning: The correct technique for safe and fun racing and freestyle BMX

  • Intro to racing: How to pace themselves on the track to build confidence and racing skills

Rock up and ride is a free programme.

We are looking for new recruits. If you would like to join us for this amazing experience please fill in the form below to be added to the list and our community manager Kirsty will be in touch directly.

Learn to ride

On Sunday 20th April we’ll be launching our next four week block of learn to ride classes. These sessions teach children how to move from balance bikes or stabilisers to pedal bikes. Once they’ve completed the course they get a certificate and can move up to our Bikers Club.

Our Learn to Ride block is £25 and with that you become a Movement park member and get access to up to three other classes a week.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Balancing & Steering: Practice balancing while rolling, and get the hang of steering your bike with ease.

  • Pedalling & Braking: Learn how to pedal efficiently, brake safely, and stop smoothly.

  • Navigating Turns: Understand how to turn your bike and make sharp or wide turns with control.

Bikers Club

Our Bikers Club is one of our fastest growing classes at Movement Park so we’re adding extra sessions to take advantage of everything the track can offer.

Bikers Club is for children who are confidently riding a bike and want to have some fun with ramps, games, racing, tricks and stunts.

Moving to the track gives us more space to improve this experience. On our track takeover day we’ll be running x3 sessions in one - freestyle, intro to the track and pump track - so all kids have a chance to try each option and grow their skills. Hopefully in the future they’ll put those skills to use and join our Rock Up and Ride programme to get them racing on the track.

On launch day Bikers Club will be free for members and just £5 for non members. You can book your session through our usual booking system.

Open Track

Calling all expert riders. We have exclusive use of the track on Sundays from 2pm - 4:30pm for you to come down and whizz around. Spaces are limited so book early.

We will be running this session from Sunday 20th April until the end of June and it’s a chance for you to get on the track straight away without having to go through an introductory course.

This session is available to experts only. It’s £20 per session.

BMX freestyle, Skateboarding and roller skating

We’ll also be continuing our regular stunt sessions for the freestylers amongst you. This will be operating at the track from launch day onwards. Similarly to many of the other sessions it’s free for members and £5 for non members on our track takeover day.

It’s not all about bikes on Sundays. We’ll also be transferring our skateboarding and roller skating sessions to the pump track to give you some new challenges. This is perfect for kids who have been working on our ramp and want to stretch their skills a bit. All the usual coaches will be on hand for support in this new environment.
